Bright Hearth

When the Gnomish Parasquad descended to explore and contact the Grippli, they set into motion events that would reshape the world. Intent on signalling their home, they created a large maze of foliage in the shape of the Gnomish rune for signal. Such was their accuracy that as they continued their march toward the swamp the rune was empowered and began sending a beam of white light into the sky. At this point they party of gnomes decided that such a signal should be harnessed and went back toward their glyph. The others continued on the journey, confident that their comrades could signal the Grippli to meet them halfway and make it possible to focus on returning home before DP0013AP left airspace.
Meanwhile the signal harnessing party set to work. They built a large inland lighthouse The Beacon of Bright Hearth to signal the Grippli homeland in the swamp, and anyone else they might be able to meet. Then they began construction of an Inn, and a fountain, and some areas to park wagons.
As the wagons rolled in many travelers and traders discovered that they could unload most of their goods within the circled wagons and then return to their homes with goods from great distances. Some wagons were set up on rocks and became shops or small homes, and the town was born.
The beacon was great for attracting people to the town, and it is hard to look at the mission as anything other than an overwhelming success; the Gnomes having met many of the civilizations in the world. Unfortunately the Beacon was also great at telling the Benmarken ships that the coast was much farther away than it was. This resulted in many sunk and grounded ships.
Overall; lots of new friends a constant revelry and an absurdly powerful enemy is about par for the course in Gnomish endeavors.
